We have been cloth diapering little butts for over 2.5 years now and no matter how many kids we have I couldn't see myself throwing in the towel on this. I thought I'd share about our wash routine and our love for them for those of you who are curious.
When we were D.I.N.K.s we invested in 24 one size diapers from Fuzzibunz. We used them to their weight limit with Copelynn. I think that was until she was about 19 or 20 months old. The one size from Fuzzibunz advertise that they can be used until potty training, so I was a tad sad when she got too heavy for them, but she's been in 90th percentile of weight and height her whole life. So maybe it's not so surprising, ha! The diapers actually still fit her at that age, but she just peed too much for them.

Now Mr. Easton is using those same diapers! Hand clap for the real money savings!
Wash Routine
We store soiled diapers in a wet bag on the back of our laundry room door
We wash 18 or less diapers at one time so they get clean enough
First do a rinse cycle on cold
Second do a wash cycle on hot with detergent (we use Country Save)
Third do another rinse cycle to make sure all of the detergent is out. I occasionally do this, but not every time.
Fourth, dry on low
Every couple months I do a "deep clean" on our diapers. This gets rid of any smells or build up that causes leaks. I soak CLEAN diapers in hot water with 1/2 cup of oxyclean overnight. Then I do 3 or 4 or 5 rinses on cold. Then dry them. Tada, they're brand new again!
Supplies that make cloth diapering easier are a diaper sprayer to get the poop off prior to washing and a wet bag for home and a travel size wet bag for on the go.
That's it folks! Plus, what is cuter than a baby in one of these things?
Do you like how I have two pictures of Easton in his diapers and so many more of Copelynn?! The picture thing with the 2nd kid is so true, sorry bud.
