Apple Hill

One of the things I miss sooooo much about living in Sacramento is Apple Hill. If you know what I'm talking about you're probably exclaiming "YEAH I LOVE Apple Hill!" just like me. If you don't I'm so sorry cause it's wonderful!

It's basically a mass group of 50-60+ farms, ranches, wineries, orchards, pumpkin patches, christmas tree farms, etc full of berry picking, apple buying, pies, fudge, caramel apples, apple butter, fresh apple cider, and everything FALL.

We used to go up there every year, sometimes multiple times in one season, to go berry picking and then make crisps and pies, or just graze our way through the fudge/candy shops and buy random things from the vendors that you don't really need. You always have to stop and buy apple butter, too. Lots of it.

AMAZING Fudge at this place.

Berry Picking 2011

Way back in the day when we were kids, my grandma worked in the kitchen @ Honey Bear Ranch and my brother Greg would help her. So we'd hang there at the ranch and fish in the pond and watch all the people go buy with their pies and bob our heads to the old people playing live music. I LOVED it. The nostalgia of Apple Hill = unprecedented.

The only thing remotely similar I have found here in Olympia is Latin's Cider Mill.....which is 100x smaller, but still it's cool to visit. No berry picking, but you can get your apple fridder or apple butter, pet some goats, and see some hay.
