Sweet Victory

B r e a k t h r o u g h!

If anyone else has had a nap fighter, you get the depth of this victory! A sleeping toddler!!

Copelynn had me at my wits end, 100% defeated in the nap area...we straight up quit naps or let her sleep on the couch with a movie or slept with her in our bed to nap...you name it....simply because she still proves to need an afternoon nap and we were desperate/worn out. BUT she really needs better rest and I really need alone time.

So, with hard work and a few days of consistency this chick is napping in HER bed, in HER room, without me, without movies, without iPads, and praise the lord we both are happier people. Zach could attest to that :)

It all really stems back to me bringing this struggle to Jesus and allowing him into the situation. He showed me that I need more of the fruit of the spirit in my life (Galations 5:22-26), especially in relation to Copelynn.

Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness
Self Control

Not by my own power, because my flesh is not capable of that. But by HIS power in me I CAN be the fruit of the spirit to her. And in return, we can see victory. In this area and lots of other areas with her. Because it really has overflowed into the rest of mine and Copes relationship, and I'm thankful.

Besides spending lots of time with Jesus and in the Word, two other things that have been extraordinarily helpful are the books Keep Your Love On and Loving Your Kids on Purpose, both by Danny Silk. I'd highly suggest them to everyone, especially parents.
