I got fired today. And I am SO glad.
The pool was one of those things that came into our life that we didn't really plan on or foresee, but we didn't want to pass up because of xyz. Little did we know, the pool job also came with a not so nice, hard to work with lady that made my life CRAZY for the past 6 weeks!
Zach is about the only reason I didn't get arrested for assault on this lady (okay, maybe a little too far, but for real...) or decide to throw in the towel even earlier than now.
Who wants to be treated unfairly? Who wants to work with a condescending person? Who wants to be taken advantage of? Who wants to be talked down to? No one.
In the madness, I tried to seek Jesus about what in the world I should be learning through this experience. And I came up with this:
1. Obedience to what's in front of us, even with difficult people.
2. Work as though you're working for the Lord, not your unkind boss. He sees your work and will reward you for it.
3. Listen to your husband's wisdom and perspective when you don't want to. God gave you him for a reason.
4. Present your requests to God and expect him to come through.
I didn't quit because God gave us this opportunity and I knew it wasn't the right thing to do. But I seriously prayed that this could be over....about 6 hours later, I was fired.
Now there's a great answered prayer!
See ya later pool and crazy lady. Thanks for the 6 week ride. Thanks for the plane tickets to a wedding we need to go to.
