No more midnight hours
I told Zach a week or so ago that it was time throw Copelynn's middle-of-the-night-nursing-crutch out the window. But I was nervous....real nervous.
Nervous because this habit is ten stinkin months old.
Nervous that I'd be up with a crying, inconsolable, pissed off baby for an hour+ for 5 or more nights in a row because mom wasn't offering the boob.
Nervous that this would cause early morning wake ups because she'd have to get used to not eating in the night. And early wake ups are good for nobody.
Nervous that it'd be exhaustingly difficult and I'd be even more tired than I was before.
Nervous about how to get her back to sleep because nursing is such a grrrrreat crutch.
And really, I just new that it'd be just as much as a learning curve for me as it would be for her!
BUT...
WE DID IT!!!
We did it, we did it, we did it!
And it was....not hard! No adult beverages needed! Copelynn didn't cause a ruckus at all and just rolled with it. You better believe I danced out of her room the first night I got her back to sleep without nursing her...and the night after that and the night after that. Especially when she started sleeping through the night on the 3rd night.
Praise the Lord, a full night's sleep!?!?!? On a regular basis!?!?!
Baby #2 will be going through this a tad earlier, thats for sure :)
Disclaimer: If your reading this and your baby isn't sleeping through the night yet (just like mine wasn't a week ago), don't be too bitter....she sleeps through the night most nights now, but not all. It's usually two steps forward and one backwards right? Right.
