2013 Recap

This is the time of year that you see a million and one recap posts online and I always enjoy reading them. Hearing about the joys and trials, mountains and valleys of peoples year is always interesting to me. All of the ones I've seen spurred me on to join the fun; so here is my 2013 recap.

We rung in the new year of 2013 on our couch, just Zach and I. I was about half way through my pregnancy with Copelynn and sick as a dog.  So sick that I wanted McDonalds...wha!? The year got better though, thank God :)

This year:

We moved twice while I was pregnant
We celebrated my 24th birthday
We started eating Paleo for awhile
I survived 40+ weeks of pregnancy
I worked through 40 weeks of pregnancy
I quit my job and we became a 1 income family
I strengthened friendships that are so near and dear to my heart now
I birthed an 8 lb 9 oz baby girl all natural and labored 90% in my bathroom with my husband
I became a mom....that is still surreal to me
We made it through the newborn-zombie-no-sleep days alive
We sleep-trained a baby. wow thats hard work
I took my 1st trip alone on a plane with Copelynn
We visited with family ALOT this year because of Copelynn. That was so fun.
I said good-bye to one of my brothers as he deployed to the Middle East
We celebrated our 3 year anniversary
We celebrated Zach's 29th birthday while in Ohio with his family
Copelynn had her first Christmas

These moments are the highlight reel of the year, but really, this years most meaningful, impactful, memorable, cherished, sweet times were all of the little moments in between the ones above. The day-to-day moments that make up a life.  The day-to-day things that make up a marriage and family.  The little things that only a fly on the wall in our home could witness.  There's never been more joy and contentment in my heart.  And I owe a lot of that to the little bundle that came into our world on May 6 , 2013.  Our worlds were forever changed and we've learned so much about ourselves and each other. We are better and stronger.  God has done great things. Our faith was built by Him this year.  BUT The best truly is yet to come....and THAT makes me excited to enter 2014.
