Cut the But

That title sounds like a quit smoking campaign, hu? Sorry false advertising.

Before I proceed, let me just say that this post is kind of ironic because the post right below it is about Copelynn's great sleep habits.

Lets just say, most things have stayed great, but not all have. And I just wrestle with that because I'm one of those peeps who likes things FIXED.

Got a problem? Okay let's find a resolution. Now. Right now.

Funny thing is, you cannot FIX children.  They have their own personalities and quirks and likes and dislikes.  Babies aren't robots that follow an exact equation? Oh maybe that's why I'm so tripped up?

Copelynn HAS come so far with her sleeping. But she still takes short naps like every other day, she still wakes at night to eat, she still isn't sleeping in her crib.

I was laying in bed the other night saying these things to Zach..." I am so grateful for this with Cope, but  I still want to see that happen." And as I said this about 4 times, going down my list of a perfect little sleeper, The Lord quieted me and so gently stopped me.

let's just be grateful.

Let the stuff on the other side of the BUT go.

Let's celebrate what is good and release what it is you think should still happen.

Convicted and quieted, I stopped. I tore up my list. And  remember this moment everything I want to add that but in my gracefulness.

Hang in there they change so so much in the first few years. Some don't but lots do. I will be praying for you and that you will find rest in the Lord. I know being tired can really make you crazy. Or me at least:) You are a good momma and this season will be gone before you know it!

Aww, don't beat yourself up, you're doing a great job!! Lucy still wakes up in the middle of the night from time to time, and she's one!!

I do know some fellow mama friends of mine whose kids are around one and breastfed, and they still wake up around once a night to eat. I know, it sucks!! But ditto to what Brooke said, this season will be gone before you know it.
